Summary:

 

In accordance with the provisions of Section 407 of the Local Government Act 1993 I wish to report the extent to which the performance targets set in Councils 2009/2029 Management Plan have been achieved.

There has been a 48% increase in accommodation bookings through Bookeasy.  Bookings for the year ended 30/4/09 were $44,392.  Problem with operators not guaranteeing the availability of accommodation.  This prevents VIC from participating in a Bookeasy based umbrella booking system for Mid North Coast.

 

Volunteers have been trained in Bookeasy.  3 familiarisation tours for volunteers were conducted in 2008.  All volunteers provided with uniforms.

 

Number of enquiries at VIC has increased by 28% from 2007 to 2008 and in the first 4 months of 2009 numbers show a growth of 18% compared to the same period last year.

 

Nambucca Valley Tourism have appointed a part time marketing officer, Libby Forster.  Two 6 month marketing programs have been prepared and are being implemented as a consequence of the “O’Neill Report” which provides a 50% subsidy for new marketing.
