Summary:

 

The Gordon Park Tennis Centre is seeking reimbursement of the Construction Certificate Application Fee of $1769.21 for the new tennis clubhouse in Gordon Park.

 

 

Recommendation:

 

That Council reimburse the Construction Certificate Application fee of $1769.21 from the 2017/2018 Donations Budget.

DISCUSSION:

 

The Gordon Park Tennis Centre Committee of Management has not ben as success as they had hoped in grant funding applications making funding very restricted for the new clubhouse project which is estimated to cost around $200,000.

 

The 2015/2016 Council considered the Committee's request for reimbursement of the development application fee, but with the Donation Fund closed to exhausted at the time, only a partial reimbursement was possible.

 

The new clubhouse will contribute significantly to the upgrade of Gordon Park and will be appreciated by all who visit the park, not just the tennis players.  The Committee of Management is seeking reimbursement of the cost of the Construction Certificate Application Fee of $1769.21 (which has recently been paid) by way of a donation under Section 356 of the Local Government Act.

This report does not impact on the environment.

 

Social

 

This is a Section 355 Committee of Council which is upgrading the Gordon Park tennis facility.  The Committee has contributed much of the funds towards the project and Council is the owner of the land.

This development will have a very positive social impact on resident and visitors whether or not they are tennis players or just visiting Gordon Park.

 

Economic

 

There is no economic impact on Council.

 

Risk

 

There is no risk to Council.
