Grading Program
GRADING PROGRAM
This is a continuous rolling program generally starting from the north in the Valla area and working south to Eungai. Weather has a major impact on the program. Both wet and dry conditions adversely affect gravel roads. At times grading will cease to prevent road damage that results in slippery or dusty conditions for road users and residents.
Updated 20 November 2009
The grading program recommenced and a number of roads have been completed. They include: Missabotti Road, Kennaicle Creek Road, Wia Ora Road, Balance Tank Road, Grassy Road, Borefield Road, Birds Road, Hawks Road, Mitchells Road, South Arm Road, Logans Road and North Arm Road (part completed before flood).
Updated 6 November 2009
Floods have again closed roads and caused a suspension of the grading program. Machinery will be committed to restoring damage to roads over the next week.

Grading will also be carried out on Morans and

Updated 27 October 2009
Flood conditions have created widespread damage. Regular grading will not commence until damage has been repaired and access restored.
Updated 16 October 2009
The return of the dry weather has meant that the grading program has again ceased. Motorists are advised to drive carefully as many roads are dusty and corrugated.
Updated 6 October 2009
There has been sufficient rain to recommence rural road grading. The following two areas will be graded:
Sullivans Road, Cow Creek, Boggy Creek, Valla Beach internal roads and possibly Newee Creek
North Congarinni, Rhones Creek, Welsh's Creek, Wia Ora and Missabotti Road.
October 2009
The constant dry weather has led to the cessation of the grading program. Continuing the program will only generate considerable dust which is a safety hazard to motorists and inconvenience to roadside residents. Grading will only recommence in the event that the weather changes and rain develops creating sufficient road moisture.
