Lanes Bridge - Bowraville
The deck on Lanes Bridge has been repaired.A 25 tonne load limit will apply as an interim measure. Access will be available for school buses (they are less than 25t). Access for commercial vehicles must be under that weight limit. Testing of the bridge components and capacity will be necessary before removing the weight limit. The load testing equipment is in high demand and it will be some months before it is available for Lanes Bridge.
Taylors Arm Road
Works on the slips at 48.7, 50,9, 51.2, 53.6 and 54.4, 55.1km have now been completed and Council has removed the load limit. Full restoration of the road is expected by the end of November.
Upper Buccra Bridges
Work has commenced on the reconstruction of the 2 bridges in the current program.
Missabotti Road Flood Damage
Approval has been given for flood damage work on Missabotti Road to proceed and Council has commenced rehabilitation of damaged pavements in the area at a number of locations.
Stabilising Program
Work has commenced with cement stabilisation of Railway Road and Monro Place in Nambucca Heads and Tilly Willy Street, Macksville. Bitumen sealing of the pavement will occur shortly.
Other stabilisation works over the next month includes South Arm Road, Alberta Street, Bowraville and Station Street, Macksville.
A large number or road failures have occurred on the edges all over the Shire. A significant number will be repaired on Taylors Arm Road, Valla Road, Wilson road and Coronation Road.
