How do I join the Library?

Membership is free to all residents of the Nambucca Valley. You will need to complete an Application for Membership form either online, or fill in the form at the library. You will need to supply proof of your residency on visiting the library. Under Reciprocal arrangements, membership can be granted for non residents who hold a public library card. This card must be produced as well as ID.

What if I'm a Visitor?

Under reciprocal agreements, if you are a member of another public library in NSW you may borrow from this library service on the presentation of your home library card. A reciprocal membership will be granted to you and a library card issued. Our members can use this arrangement to access other libraries when visiting other areas.

What can I borrow?

You can borrow books, both fiction and non-fiction for children and adults, including Large Print, Talking Books, Magazines, and DVD's. You can also access our eBook, eAudio and eMagazine collections (see staff on how you can access these or click here for details).

How do I find items in the Library?

You can find items in the library by using our online catalogue. You can also seek staff assistance with your enquiry. For more details click here.

How long can I keep Library items?

Items can be issued for three weeks. Up to two renewals can be granted as long as they are not reserved by other borrowers.

Can I place a reservation from home?

You can reserve items from home, using our online catalogue. You will need to be assigned an online access PIN and have your library card when reserving. You can reserve up to 20 items per card.

Should I notify the Library if I change my address?

Yes. Please let us know of any changes to your address or contact details so we can keep your records up to date.

Can I use the Internet at the Library?

Both Branch libraries have Internet terminals available free for library members and genuine visitors. Public computer access sessions are limited to 1 hour per day, per person. Sessions may be limited to 1/2 hour sessions on occasions when the need for access is high.

Can I borrow materials from another library?

Items not held in the Nambucca Valley Council Library collection can often be obtained from other libraries. For information, please contact library staff or make a request via our website. There is a charge of $10.00 for all requests. There may also be additional charges applied by the lending library. The fee may be waived if the requested item is unable to be supplied.
