POPULAR DEPUTY MAYOR COUNCILLOR JOHN WILSON RE-ELECTED UNOPPOSED

Nambucca Valley Council, at its Ordinary Meeting held 28 September 2023, held its annual election for the important role of Deputy Mayor. The incumbent, Councillor John Wilson, was re-elected unopposed for a sixth term as Deputy Mayor.

Mayor, Councillor Rhonda Hoban, OAM said “Councillor Wilson has provided great support in the Deputy Mayor’s role and his particular expertise in finance and audit have been invaluable to me and to Council. I look forward to working with him again during the ensuing term which ends at the next general election in September 2024.”

“The coming year is full of challenges as we recover from natural disasters and a pandemic and cope with escalating costs and a massive Capital Works Program.”

“Having stability at the political level is essential if we are to navigate these difficult economic times and I would like to thank my fellow Councillors for unanimously endorsing Councillor Wilson as the Deputy Mayor,” concluded Mayor Hoban.
