Nambucca Valley Council’s draft Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) aims to provide a vision for the Nambucca Valley, details of the special characteristics which contribute to our local identity and shared community values, and a summary of actions to manage growth and change into the future. It has been prepared to comply with the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, which requires that all NSW councils must prepare a local strategic planning statement.
The Statement is concerned with land use planning on matters such as housing, employment and environmental management. It identifies the basis for strategic planning in the Valley, having regard to economic, social and environmental matters. The LSPS sets out the strategic basis for Council’s land use planning in the coming 20 years to 2040 but is focused on the key land use planning actions that need to be undertaken in the next 4 years.
