Macksville Town Centre Tree Planting Program

Works will soon commence to install planter boxes and plant street trees in the Macksville CBD.

The following is a draft works program, subject to change and will be updated as required.

Roadworks

Road Rehabilitation
The reconstruction of the pavement with primer seal and drainage to Mann Street between Bent Street and Palmer Street is complete and awaiting a final ashpalt seal.  Council is working with the State Government and contractors to implement a sustainability project incorporating recycled plastic into the asphalt wearing course.  It is expected that this phase of the project will be completed in the near future.
 
Road Maintenance
The maintenance grading crew will be working in Eungai area than moving to Rosewood Road, Gumma and then onto North Arm Roads.
 
Landslip Repair
Work will commence on 15 October to stabilise a section of the embankment above Riverside Drive, east of Woodbell Street.  Soil nails and mesh will be installed over the face of the embankment.  Traffic will be detoured around the site via Woodbell Street.  The works are expected to take approximately 3 weeks.
 
Bridges
The replacement of Lanes Bridge, Rodeo Drive, Bowraville will continue and the approaches will be constructed.
 
 
 

Construction

Kerb and Gutter
Maintenance works will be undertaken in Nambucca Heads and Macksville.
 
 
 

Green Spaces

The Green Space Team have the following planned for January:

  • Mowing and brush-cutting of all council reserves and playing fields
  • Pruning of trees throughout reserves and cemeteries
  • Roadside mowing of rural roads
  • Mulching and weeding of street scape plantings
  • Playground maintenance as required
  • Mowing of council maintained Asset Protection Zones
  • Picnic table and shelter maintenance, staining and production
  • Weed control throughout reserves and road reserves
