Library Management Children and Young Adults Policy

Library Management Children and Young Adults Policy(PDF, 155KB)

Nambucca Valley Council has resolved to exhibit a draft revised Library Management Children and Young Persons Policy. The main change to the policy is that Nambucca Valley Libraries do not provide child supervision as part of their services. Children under the age of 10 years cannot be left unattended and are the responsibility of their parent or guardian (minimum age of 16). Previously there was no age limit on leaving children unattended in the libraries.

The draft policy will be on public exhibition until Friday 22 August 2025 and can be viewed on Council’s website or in person at 44 Princess Street, Macksville. Written submissions will be accepted until 25 August 2025.

Please note that any submission may be incorporated in a Council business paper or otherwise publicly disclosed. Submissions should be addressed to the General Manager, Nambucca Valley Council, PO Box 177, Macksville NSW 2447 or council@nambucca.nsw.gov.au.
