Section 356 Donations 2025/2026

Council can make donations or provide other financial assistance to persons or organisations for the purpose of exercising its functions under Section 356 of the Local Government Act.

 

All applicants must complete an application form for provision of a donation up to the current “capped amount” in accordance with Council’s adopted Donations (Charitable & Other) Policy.

 

To make an application:

  1. Download the Donation Application form 2025-2026 OR
  2. Copies of the application form can be picked up at Council Offices, 44 Princess Street, Macksville, or can be posted out upon request; OR
  3. Print the Adobe PDF form and fill out by hand, then scan and send via the email address above, or post to Nambucca Valley Council at PO Box 177, Macksville NSW 2447, OR drop off at the Council Offices at 44 Princess Street, Macksville.

All fields in the application form are to be completed, attachments provided as indicated, and are to be legible.

 

Applications will only be accepted from incorporated not-for-profit organisations, or unincorporated not-for-profit organisations, auspiced by an incorporated organisation in the Nambucca Valley.

 

Applicants must demonstrate financial viability of their organisation, and applicant organisations must be based in the Nambucca Valley Council Local Government Area (LGA) or must be affiliated with, or service clients within the Nambucca Valley Council LGA.

 

All applications will be reported to Council, at the next scheduled meeting, after receipt, if deemed eligible, and if funds are available for donation in this financial year. Council will review and determine successful applications.

 

Successful applicants will be notified once reviewed, assessed and reported, and once Council has all account details for payment of a donation. Funds will be made available by EFT.

 

All donations provided in the 2025/2026 year must be utlilised in the year paid, and acquitted by 30 June 2026. Failure to acquit a donation will make the recipient organisation ineligible for donations in the future.
