Council seeks to rehome all companion animals from the pound not claimed by their owners which are not feral cats or dangerous, menacing or restricted dogs. Council houses companion animals within the pound for periods longer than the legal requirements to provide them with a greater opportunity to be rehomed. Animals are advertised on this website, social media and notified to multiple rescue organisations in an effort to have them rehomed. Unfortunately for the welfare of the animal, safety of Council staff and to enable the pound to maintain capacity to service the needs of the community; animals cannot be housed in the pound for an indefinite period of time.

For any of the animals advertised please complete our online Animal Adoption Form.

For any other queries please contact Council Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm on 65682555.
