Scotts Head Masterplan

About the Project

The Scotts Head Masterplan aims to promote an integrated and coordinated management strategy that enables stakeholders to work together to improve their public spaces and foreshores. A key outcome of the masterplan will be to identify what is currently working well, highlight areas of concern, and propose practical solutions to improve overall land management at Scotts Head.

In December 2025, Nambucca Valley Council kicked off the master plan project by inviting expressions of interest to the project reference group.  The group has now met and the process is underway.

There will be three phases of community consultation on the plan:

  • Initial engagement: a project survey opened Wednesday 22 April 2026 and closes on 17 May 2026, where community members shared their view on what is important to them when using the foreshore areas at Scotts Head.

  • To support initial engagement, an information session was held at the Rec Hut in Scotts Head on 3 May 2026 from 10am-1pm.

  • A second phase of community consultation will occur from June-July, where different parts of the draft master plan will start to take shape.

  • The final community consultation phase will be when the draft master plan is reported to Council, which is expected to occur at the 28 October 2026 Ordinary Meeting of Council, at this stage. Should Council resolve to exhibit the plan, the second in-depth round of community consultation and formal submissions to the plan will occur in October-November 2026.
