The Nambucca Valley is known for its idyllic natural environment including beautiful beaches, the Nambucca River, the Gaagal Wanggaan (South Beach), Yarriabini and Dunggir national parks, historic and rural villages, productive farmland and the rainforest foothills of the Great Dividing Range. It is located midway between Sydney and Brisbane, and the major regional centres of Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.
Relocation to the Nambucca Valley
Macksville, Nambucca Heads and Bowraville all provide a diversity of lifestyle opportunities with their mix of residential living options, essential retail, commercial and community services, while housing is also concentrated in the growing coastal areas of Scotts Head and Valla Beach. The region’s economy has a close connection to its natural environment and strategic location, including for the tourism, agribusiness and manufacturing sectors. However, its largest employment sectors include health care, social services and education. Nambucca has historically strong links with Coffs Harbour, which provides residents access to a broader variety of retail, employment, health and education services as well as air route connections across the country and the world.

Health, Education and Services
The Valley offers a range of public and private education options including public, private and specialty primary and high schools. You can search for schools in the region on the Good Schools Guide website.
The TAFE Connected Learning Centre in Nambucca Heads is a state-of-the-art facility providing access to digital technologies, such as simulations and virtual learning experiences, and offer a greater number of courses and flexible study options. The Macksville TAFE Campus offers a specialty fashion studio offering a range of courses.
The new Macksville District Hospital has a 28-bed acute inpatient unit and a 24-hour Emergency Department with medical coverage and telehealth capabilities to connect into Coffs Harbour Health Campus’ Emergency Department.
The Nambucca Valley has a large number of General Practitioners who cater for diverse patient needs and operate from well-equipped facilities. You can search for local practices here.
Employment
One of the biggest factors in deciding to move can be the availability of work. The Nambucca Valley experiences similar skills shortages to the rest of Australia, with many trades, medical professionals and specialists, including aged care and support workers, and teachers including qualified childcare workers. Engineers, planners, and hospitality and tourism professionals including chefs are in demand.
The Nambucca Valley has a diversified economy based on the traditional sectors of Health Care and Social Services, Education and Training, Tourism, Agriculture and Manufacturing.

Council operates two library locations at Nambucca Heads and Macksville. Our libraries host a range of activities and event to suit everyone, from babies to seniors! There is also an opportunity to volunteer at a library near you, Council's Visitor Information Centre or on a range of committees, which is a great way of meeting new people.
The We Are Here committee support Australian Defence Force personal looking to transition our of the ADF to relocate to the Nambucca Valley you can find out more about connecting in with them on their Facebook page or via email.
The Welcome Experience also operates in the region. The program aims to improve the relocation process for essential workers and their families and includes relocation and community integration assistance.
Rates, Water and Waste Services

Coffs Coast Waste Service is the regional waste collection service provider head to their website to find out about bin collection days. Councils waste facility is located at 711 Old Coast Road, Nambucca Heads and can be contacted on (02) 6568 2170.
Pets, Animal Registration and Dog Walking
Council provides a range of information to pet owners including information on pet microchipping and registrations, dog on and off leash areas, and responsible pet ownership.
