Nambucca Valley Council Strategic Plan Water and Sewerage

Nambucca Valley Council has developed a 30-year strategic plan for water supply and sewerage services.(PDF, 17MB)

Council has endorsed the plan being put on public exhibition for a period of 28 days.

The document summarises population, water demand and sewer load projections for the Nambucca Valley and contains modelling to determine the impact of future development on Council’s water supply and sewer network.

It also identifies future actions and an implementation plan for upgrades over time to water supply system issues and sewerage schemes in Macksville, Scotts Head, Nambucca Heads and Bowraville.

The plan also examines and discusses levels of service, water quality, asset management and resourcing. The costs associated with delivering safe, secure, accessible and affordable water supply and sewerage services are then modelled to determine appropriate water and sewer charges to provide a stable pricing path over the life of the plan. It  recommends that water pricing is maintained at current levels (CPI increases going forward) and that sewerage prices are progressively increased by approximately 12 per cent to ensure that sufficient funds are available to replace assets when they reach end of life.
