The Nambucca Valley’s profile on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) is elevated after about 10 businesses volunteered to participate in Council’s professional photography shoot and workshop.

Nambucca Valley Council General Manager Bede Spannagle said work has advanced on the destination branding project and local businesses had enthusiastically gotten involved in Council’s ATDW project.

“The tourism businesses and our valley’s natural environment are second to none, so it’s great to see work has advanced to boost our valley’s profile and grow our tourism industry,” he said.

“Delivering an updated destination brand was one of the key actions identified in Council’s Delivery Program and Economic Development & Tourism Strategy 2025/26 - 2029/30 and work is progressing on it.

“Local tourism operators and hospitality businesses have also gotten behind bolstering our valley’s brand on the ATDW, which is an action that over time will support visitor attraction to our valley.”

In late April, Council’s tourism team held a workshop on using ATDW at the Nambucca Heads TAFE Connected Learning Centre. About 10 local tourism operators and hospitality businesses participated and gained great, professional imagery of their businesses to publish online.

Nambucca Valley Council Manager Economic Development and Tourism Janice Rooney said improving the valley’s presence and visual assets on this platform would reap rewards, as the ATDW is where hundreds of reputable websites draw their information from.

“Supporting our local businesses to get listed on the ATDW means when large, global tourism websites like Qantas, Accor Vacation Club, and Visit NSW provide information on places to visit, the Nambucca Valley will be found and look great,” she said.

“I’d like to thank all of our local businesses who volunteered their time to get listed on ATDW – your actions, and further work we plan to do, will raise the profile of our valley and make it an even more attractive place to visit.”

Council plans to deliver further ATDW workshops and photography shoots in the future, for free, to local tourism businesses. Be sure not to miss the next opportunity by signing up to our monthly Valley Business e-newsletter here.
