NAMBUCCA VALLEY COUNCIL

CHANGES TO COUNCIL’S DONATIONS (CHARITABLE & OTHER) POLICY

Council’s Donations Policy was reviewed in July 2025 and endorsed by Council at the 20 August 2025 Council meeting.

The recommended changes were adopted, including the increase of the “capped” donation amount from $500 to $1,000, the annual donation to the Nambucca Valley’s 13 schools was increased from $100 to $150. and the Annual Donation Program was removed from the Policy.

Moving forward, Council will continue to accept donation applications all year, however there will not be a scheduled Annual Donations Program. All submitted applications will be reported to Council regularly, as received, for approval, pending sufficient available funds. The donations are administered in accordance with an annual budget, which is only available up until 30 June each year.

Council’s website will be updated when the 2025/2026 budget is fully subscribed, and further funds will then not be available until 1 July 2026.

All donations provided during a financial year, must be used in the year approved, and acquitted by 30 June of the year provided.

The criteria for donation applications remains the same, and the Donation Application form will be available on Council’s website, with a link to the current policy.

Nambucca Valley Council continues to support our not-for-profit local organisations to deliver projects, programs and provide services to residents of the Nambucca Valley LGA, by providing opportunity to apply for Section 356 donations.

If you have any questions about the changes to the policy, or enquiries about donations, please contact Council’s Grants and Contributions Officer, Teresa Boorer, on 02 6568 0221 or 0448 331 476.
