Grassy Head Rd set to close for structural rehabilitation

A 250-metre section of Grassy Head Road will undergo further structural rehabilitation from mid-August to repair the deteriorated pavement.

Nambucca Valley Council Acting General Manager David Moloney said due to the extent of works this time, the northern end of Grassy Head Road, near Scotts Head Road, would need to close for about two weeks.

“Grassy Head Road is one of our valley’s important connector roads and its northern sections of pavement have deteriorated significantly,” he said.

“Our construction crew needs to rehabilitate a 250m long, 7m wide section of road, so it will be closed to vehicles for about two weeks from 17 August, while the work is carried out.

“Importantly, the two or so landholders who live adjacent to where the work site is have been notified and access to their driveways will be maintained, under the guidance of traffic control.

“I thank our community for their patience while we carry out this road upgrade.”

From Monday 17 August, weather depending, the community will start to see traffic controllers, road pavement patching crews, and heavy plant along Grassy Head Road, from near the intersection of Scotts Head Road south to 865 Grassy Head Road.
