The annual Major Events Sponsorship Program is a competitive program that supports the delivery of events in the Nambucca Valley Local Government Area that:

  • Increase visitation and overnight stays
  • Stimulate local economic activity
  • Strengthen the Nambucca Valley’s identity and profile
  • Activate public spaces and town centres
  • Build local event capability and sustainability

Funding will be delivered through two tiers:

Tier 1 Major Event Sponsorship Funding

Events that attract overnight visitors, have a marketing plan, generate an income stream to reinvest in their event, contribute significantly to the local economy.

$5,001 - $10,000

Up to two

A recommendation on Tier 1 Sponsorship funding requests will be assessed by a panel of council officers against the criteria outlined in this policy and the guidelines and reported to the Council for determination.

Tier 2 Emerging Major Event Sponsorship Funding

Emerging events that attract day visitors from outside the Nambucca Valley, are unique or promote unique characteristics of the Nambucca Valley.

Up to $5,000

Up to ten

Council officers will establish a panel to evaluate Tier 2 Sponsorship requests against the criteria outlined in this policy and the guidelines and make a determination.

 

Important Dates:

Applications open: 24 August 2026

Applications close: 28 September 2026

Notification of outcome:

Tier 1: Friday 29 October 2026

Tier 2: Monday 19 October 2026

Event delivered by: 31 October 2027

Final acquittal by: 30 November 2027

Before you start:

Read the funding guidelines to understand eligibility, funding conditions and assessment criteria.

The application form will require you to upload the following information:

  • Project plan - activities and milestones for event delivery
  • Detailed budget
  • A marketing plan
  • Supporting documents such as risk assessment, public liability insurance, event site plan or other documentation demonstrating your organisation's/group's readiness for the project
