Nambucca Valley Council is delivering its capital works program and a bridge uplifting program, funded by Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding arrangements and through the Regional Roads and Transport Recovery Package.

Nambucca Valley Council Acting General Manager David Moloney wished to remind residents from this Monday 17 August 2026, weather depending, Wirrimbi Road at Cassidys Bridge would be closed and Grassy Head Road would be partially closed from 8.30am to 3.30pm work days, at its northern end.

“We have quite an extensive capital works program underway, which both improves our valley’s infrastructure and repairs damage caused by past flood events,” he said.

“To deliver the works safely for both our community and the construction crews, some road sections will need to be closed or partially closed.

“From this Monday 17 August, works are scheduled to start at Cassidys Bridge on Wirrimbi Road and on Grassy Head Road, weather depending, so I would like to remind motorists driving in these areas to plan their journeys and allow more time for detours.
