Become a Local Ambassador – Volunteer to Showcase Our Region
Published on 21 August 2025
Are you passionate about the Nambucca Valley and all it has to offer? Applications are now open for enthusiastic community members to join the current team of volunteers at the Visitor Information Centre in Nambucca Heads.
With Nambucca Valley Council’s recent adoption of the Economic Development and Tourism Strategy and the commencement of newly appointed Manager of Economic Development and Tourism, Jan Rooney, and Tourism Coordinator, Nicola Bodle it is an exciting time to be part of delivering visitor services.
As part of Council’s plan to enrich the visitor economy the Visitor Information Centre will be expanding its dedicated team of volunteers who support visitors to the region, and in turn, the broader community.
Volunteers play a vital role in connecting visitors with local businesses and experiences. Using their local knowledge, they encourage visitors to maximise their time in the area by exploring the unique offerings found in cultural, culinary, recreational and nature-based experiences from the Valley to the Sea.
Committed volunteers are essential to the ongoing success and growth of the Visitor Information Centre. Volunteers generally work one shift of 2-5 hours per week, and many have contributed to the Visitor Information Centre for years - some decades!
If you love living in the Nambucca Valley and want to learn new skills, make new connections and give back to your community, apply now to become part of this supportive, growing team. Drop in to the Visitor Information Centre for a chat, on the corner of Giinagay Way and Riverside Drive, Nambucca Heads - or email nambucca.vic@nambucca.nsw.gov.au
