There are just five days to go to have your say on the Nambucca Valley’s Signage & Wayfinding Strategy.

As the hours tick down to compiling of the community’s feedback on important public signage, Nambucca Valley Council Manager Economic Development and Tourism Jan Rooney wanted to remind residents to have their say.

“This project is really exciting because the valley’s signage and wayfinding visually represents who we are as a valley and it helps both residents and visitors to get around,” she said.

“We’ve engaged local consultant, Fisher Design & Architecture, to develop a comprehensive strategy that will create a consistent approach to signage across the whole local government area.

“Good signage helps people feel welcome and navigate around safely. I invite anyone with an opinion on our valley’s signage to take our short online survey by its closing date of this Sunday 27 September 2026.”

Anna Fisher of Fisher Design & Architecture yesterday held a workshop on the strategy for the Duguula Bindarray-Garri Aboriginal Advisory Committee.

“Engaging with Gumbaynggirr people to learn their opinions on incorporating language and other cultural aspects into our potential signage is important,” she said.

“At the workshop I led on Tuesday 22 September in Council Chambers, Council’s Aboriginal advisory committee came up with many ideas, including perhaps introducing a Welcome to Gumbaynggirr Country sign along Giinagay Way, near the motorway.

“Every person’s opinion is important, because we all live in and love the valley and its surrounding areas, so please give your feedback via the online survey by this Sunday.”
