Business leaders forum encourages strong connections
Business owners and residents heart the latest news and what support is available for small businesses at the Valley Business Leaders Breakfast in Nambucca Heads this morning.
Presenters at the breakfast networking event were TAFE NSW Associate Director Engagement, Partnership & Growth Marty Braley, Service NSW Business Relationship Manager (North) Dan Erenshaw, and Nambucca Valley Council General Manager Bede Spannagle.
Mr Spannagle said it was great to catch up over breakfast with local business owners and start-ups.
“I was pleased to be able to provide an update to our local business community on the many projects that Council is currently working on,” he said.
“Council has been in an intense reconstruction phase since the flood in May, which has delivered a lot of opportunities for local contractors.
“In conjunction with the Australian and NSW Governments, we are also delivering the Valla Urban Growth Area. This large project has benefited local civil construction companies already and it will bring online industrial lots and new residential housing into the future.
“We’re also busy doing projects which make the valley a vibrant place to visit and an attractive place to live for our residents, such as the Bellwood Park splash pad which opened just prior to the school holidays.”
Mr Erenshaw outlined current opportunities available to businesses through the Service NSW Business Concierge program including:
- Up to $1000 towards the cost of workplace health and safety items
- Registering to become an Active and Creative Kids Provider
- On-going, one-on-one support for businesses as they set up, apply for licences/ permits and navigate regulation.
Businesses in the Nambucca Valley wanting to find out more about these opportunities can contact the Service NSW the Business Concierge on 137 788.
