Council wishes to advise the new Way Way Bridge has today officially opened after castellated kerbing was installed on the bridge this week.

Construction of the new bridge started on 15 July 2026 and it has involved installing higher bridge piles and abutments, placing a new concrete deck and building up the road.

This stronger, higher and more resilient bridge was funded by the Australian and NSW Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement through the Regional Roads and Transport Recovery Package (RRTRP).

It is one of six new bridges across the valley being built through the program.

Yarriabini National Park can now be accessed via Way Way Creek Road again, off Scotts Heads Road, as well as Kinki Spur Road near Grassy Head, which remained open during the bridge replacement works.

If you have any questions about this or the other bridges being replaced across the valley, please contact Council on 02 6568 2555 or council@nambucca.nsw.gov.au
