EOI open for Rural Lands Consultative Committee

Nambucca Valley Council has resolved to open expressions of interest for a new advisory committee, the Rural Lands Consultative Committee.

The committee’s terms of reference are here and the group aims to provide advice to Council utilizing genuine progress indicators in respect to the following:

• The preparation of a Rural Lands Strategy and implementation of recommended actions

• Matters affecting agricultural productivity within the Nambucca Valley rural zones

• Land use conflict issues

• Environmental management.

 

Who We’re Looking For

Council is looking for four community representatives to join the Committee who:

  • Have a strong connection to the Nambucca Valley
  • Live or work in a rural zone of the Nambucca Local Government Area.

 

Applicants should be:

  • Willing to work respectfully with others, sharing ideas, listening to different views, and helping reach balanced outcomes
  • Available to attend scheduled meetings
  • Comfortable reviewing meeting agendas, asking questions, and providing feedback at meetings and between meetings
  • Committed to acting in the best interest of the whole community and declare any potential conflicts of interest
  • Supportive of Council’s key values of accountability, professionalism and teamwork. Please read the Terms of Reference(PDF, 114KB)  before applying.

 

Selection Criteria and Evaluation

To ensure fairness and equal opportunity, all Expressions of Interest (EOIs) will be assessed based on the applicant’s written submission addressing the above eligibility criteria and the following (up to 500 words):

  • Ability to represent a broader demographic, group or network, and a willingness to act as a representative community voice
  • Commitment to participating in the group and working together to find balanced, collective outcomes
  • Alignment with Council’s values of accountability, professionalism and teamwork, as demonstrated in the submission.
